Memory Diagnostic Tool To Fix Memory Related Problems


RAM is the part of computer hardware, which is often the cause of many system problems. If your PC frequently freezes, reboots or brings up a Blue Screen of Death, bad memory could just be the single cause of all these problems. Running a memory diagnose would be a good thing to do as the first step of your troubleshooting process.


Windows 10/8/7 has a Memory Diagnostic Tool which you can use to check for possible memory problems, including testing of the Random Access Memory (RAM) on your computer. If you face any BSOD problem frequently or facing slower performance issue, You can launch this tool. It will just find out RAM problems, Then you have to fix it

To Run This Tool Press Win + R and Type mdsched.exe and click on ok this will open the memory diagnostic tool. The tool offers 2 options to start the diagnostic process, either Restart now and check for problems, or do so the next time when starting your computer.

If you choose to restart your computer and run the tool immediately, make sure that you save your work and close all of your running programs.

Here press F1 to Use the Advanced options for running the Memory Diagnostics Tool

1. Test mix. Choose what type of test you want to run: Basic, Standard, or Extended. The choices are described in the tool.

2. Cache. Choose the cache setting you want for each test: Default, On, or Off.

3. Press count. Type the number of times you want to repeat the test.

Press F10 to start the test.
Wait for several minutes to be completed the process. Sometimes, It may take more time than normal.
• After completing diagnosing memory problems, Your PC will be restarted and boot up normally.

How to Find Memory Diagnostic Test Results

Open Event Viewer, right-click System under Windows Logs category and choose Filter Current Log. Then select Memory Diagnostics Results as the Event sources in Filter Current Log dialog window, and click OK.

Double-click the event log entry to see the details whether there are any errors detected.
